5 Minute Interview with Richard Elliott

How and why did you get involved with Irvine Beat FM? : I got involved with IBFM last year after getting asked about my technical knowledge of broadcasting and all things IT related. I came along to help out and soon got hooked on the world or radio.

What are your favourite types of music? : I’m a huge 80s fan and also a fan of commercial dance as well as classic rock

Name your favourite artist(s) : ooh where do I start… 10CC, Meat Loaf and I’m secretly a Westlife fan but shhhhh

Name your favourite album(s) : That’s a hard one. Maybe White on Blonde by Texas

Name a song that makes you hit “Repeat” when you listen to it : A bit of a cliche, but Spirit of Radio by Rush

Name a song you can’t help singing along to : anything cheesy

Favourite novelty song : ummmm Chesney Hawkes, possibly

Which, if any, musical instruments can you play? : I can play tiny bits of guitar (badly)

Can you sing? If so, what’s your Karaoke favourite? : Nope. I’m tone deaf lol

What do you love about Irvine? : The variety of people you meet out and about

Best view(point) in Irvine? : The back of the rack in the studio lol

What’s your favourite breakfast? : Bacon, egg n tattie scone roll

What’s your favourite dinner? : Ooh beef stroganoff

What’s your favourite biscuit? : Anything chocolatey

If it’s my round, what drink should I get you? : Southern Comfort and Coke

If you have a day off and some cash in your pocket, what would you do? : Buy some CDs

When did you last have a lie-in? : No idea

What are the last three things you bought? : Gaffer tape, petrol and energy drink

Have you met anybody famous? : Do DJs count?

Who would you most like to interview? : Mmm a supermodel perhaps, although it may not make for much of an interview.

Do you have any secret talents? : I can talk higher pitched than Justin Bieber (thats maybe a curse though)
